How great is this?

  1. That's pretty much awesome, actually. I have become a touch obsessed with John Darnielle recently, basically because of how amazing the Mountain Goats were on the cruise (so, you know, thanks for getting him to come). I love anything and everything he does and feel the need to ramble about them on blogs apparently.

  2. I never knew there was a band called the Mountain Goats until I went on SDV but I really like them. His lyrics are very interesting. I just won one of their CD's on EBAY. Yeah for me!!

  3. Is it the song that you like, or the fact that an author can carry a tune?

  4. Sweet! Feels good in my bones and makes me want to open a fresh beer with friends. Very, very nice.

  5. So great! I love the look on John's face when Tobias starts singing along.

Steve, can you please collaborate with John Darnielle on something? I think it would make me die from happiness!

  6. Thank you so much for turning me on to someone new, and something different. The song touched me, not only because it opens my eyes to what you must be feeling, but because I've been there myself and I'm humbled by your humility.

  11. My friend introduced me to the Mountain Goats recently. The Sunset Tree is now one of my favorite albums. Ne'er a night of drinking goes by without a circle of us singing "This Year" shoulder to shoulder. There will be feasting and dancing in Jerusalem next year for sure.
